16. 2,527 posts. Posted February 17, 2007 (edited) Finally got to make the prototype set of BR furniture for the Saiga-100 in 30-06. As far as I know, this furniture would fit the Saiga-100 in 308 just as easily. The wood used is sassafrass and isn't sanded very much. The purpose of this set was to verify the dimensions of my pattern.I just acquired my first Saiga 308-1 and love it. I could only find the 21-inch barrel model with wood stocks, and while I love its appearance, I may have to swap the wood furniture out for something a little lighter. Some of the stocks combinations with bipods look interesting though it would probably eliminate only a few ounces.Curious if these are just laminates given what they did to the stock magazine. An AKM lower handguard will need some modification, the the front trunnion of the KR/KP-9 sits a bit lower, so the rear need a bit of filing/dremeling. The front of the handguard will need some light filing. The upper should just rotate on, may need a little or a lot ...It is mahogony with a Tung oil finish. I am only willing to sell it as a complete set (counts as 3 compliance parts). Buyer has to supply their own bolts and screws to attach to your Saiga 12 Pistol Grip Bolt, Tang Screw and OEM handguard screw). I will ship it for $275 via 2 day USPS. Money Order preferred...
