He also said that they are far better engineered as far as tolerances go. Also the machining is superior inside and out.

Ohlins are great, but pricey, and kind of over-engineered for most people. Basically, they're close to full race suspension, and 99% of people don't really need it. Fox and Racetech are both good, simple, well performing. Fox being more pricey than Racetech tho. There are old industry standards like Progressive and Bitubo.
