Jeep yj fuel return line

95 YJ fuel pressure regulator. I recently purchased the jeep and had to replace the fuel pump and assembly, which has now caused the jeep to run bad. I have scanned and trouble shot it and have discovered the return fuel line is capped off. The feeder line ties into the end of the fuel rail, but the return is capped off.

The fuel system is very basic, so if you already replaced the FPR and confirmed its working well then the only other mechanical component in the system is the pump. Everything else is either the 2 relays, (fuel pump and auto-shutdown), the pressure/feeder line, the inline fuel filter, and the return line back to the tank.The return line also should be on the top side of the filter, above the carb line to prevent gas siphoning back to the tank when it sits, making for long cold starts. Not sure on 96 XJ as it was a transition year and there ain’t no ..., Remove your gas cap. Remove your fuel return line at the filter. Remove your vent hose at the charcoal canister. Now you have two options: 1. Blow into each of the lines removed above and pay attention to the pressure. If it were mine, i would run new line from the front to the rear for both the supply and the return lines. Located on the inside of the frame above the rear axle. Has its own shield with 2-3 bolts. Access from underneath. See location from stain on frame in picture. Ditto on the fuel lines. I found the filter after tracking a minor fuel leak from those lines., Only one pressure line, other two are evap lines I think. fuel return will be added after I add the novak kit.
