Serial Number Help Custom Les Paul. Any info I can get on this would be wonderful- serial number CS31316. I know this is a 2003 Sam Ash exclusive, but virtually nothing else. It's very heavy at 10 lbs, has a full 59ish neck, appears to look like an R0- tangerine color. Thank you very much!, Hello all! This is my first post, so please bear with me. I am thinking about buying an ES-339. I would like to find out a little about its history, but I have been unable to come across any information from the serial number. Can anyone help me please? The serial number is CS252496. Thanks., Every Gibson solid body guitar had a serial number on the back of the headstock since mid 1953 and later. In order for it to be a true Gibson Les Paul, without a serial number on the headstock, it would have had to been made in 1952 or early 1953. That would be quite a prize!
