I have a Getrag 260/5 from my 533i production 4/84. According to the Bentley, beginning in March 1984 the Getrag 260 0105 090 was replaced with a 260 0105 091 transmission on 533i models. The 091 used a longer release bearing than the 090. The 091 also used the same clutch as the 265 and 260/6.I'm buying a Getrag 260 for my convertible project at the moment, and there's one for sale in Perth which seems to be the one however it's got a different marking and I'm not sure about it. It says 260.0.1346.91 on the markings instead of 260.0.1346.90 from what I've been hearing is the right one. I beat the piss out of it. And it broke on the low rpm shifts (Most the the abuse was at the drag strip with slicks). I replaced it with an old Tremec 3550, rated at 350 ft lbs, and cracked the case on that. The T5 is not a slouch.
