Cubby: The pin is welded to the draft control plate and prevents the draft control plunger from rotating. The yoke is threaded onto the plunger and can be removed by turning counter clockwise if it is not rusted to the plunger as is common. If it will not turn, do not force it but rather heat the yoke to cherry red with a torch and try again.
