The entrance is right on Connecticut Avenue. It's downhill from Cleveland Park Station, or uphill from Woodley Park-Zoo station, both on the Red Line (towards Shady Grove), There are restaurants at both stations, and there are some restaurants in front of the Zoo. There is some eating and ice cream and stuff inside the Zoo itself, but too me it's not so great.
